Short-term teaching and clinical support opportunity in Namibia

12 January 2023

We invite FANZCAs and provisional fellows to apply for a three month teaching and clinical support role in northern Namibia.

Health Volunteers International, an Australian charity based in Tasmania, is seeking an anaesthetist from Australia or New Zealand for a three month fellowship in northern Namibia. The position is open to FANZCAs and experienced provisional fellows with a passion for teaching and an interest in working in low-resource environments.

The role primarily involves teaching and clinical support for trainee anaesthetists completing a four year Masters of Medicine program in anaesthesia through the University of Namibia. A degree of clinical service provision is also expected. The successful applicant will be based at a large referral hospital in the north of the country, with other specialists on-site for support.

Health Volunteers International will provide funding to the value of $A12,500, which will cover the cost of return airfares, accommodation and a living allowance.
