Key role for Tasmanian FANZCA

Launceston-based fellow Associate Professor Tim Strong has been appointed as the next Head of the Tasmanian School of Medicine.

Associate Professor Strong, the Director of the Launceston Clinical School (LCS) and a former member of ANZCA’s Continuing Professional Development Committee, will take up his new position in September.

After internship and residency at the Launceston General Hospital, Associate Professor Strong trained in anaesthesia in England and Australia before working as a specialist anaesthetist at the Royal Adelaide Hospital.

He returned to Tasmania in 2003 and since 2006, he has combined work as a clinician with academic roles. In 2018, he was appointed to his current role at the LCS where he has continued to develop his commitment to interdisciplinary models of health practitioner education to improve health outcomes.
