New exemption to some scholar role activities

25 November 2021

From November, trainees who complete certain ANZCA Educators Program (AEP) modules and undertake the post-course activity will get credit towards the scholar role activities modules “teach a skill” and “facilitate a group discussion/running a tutorial”.

Trainees who complete all of the following ANZCA Educators Program (AEP) modules and undertake the post-course activity will get credit towards the scholar role activities modules “teach a skill” and “facilitate a group discussion/running a tutorial”:

  1. Planning effective teaching and learning.

  2. Facilitating learning in the clinical setting.

  3. Feedback to enhance learning.

  4. Teaching a practical skill.

  5. Interactive learning and teaching.

The AEP is a great opportunity for trainees to learn foundational skills in teaching and learning, and is open to trainees from basic training level onwards. It’s also an excellent course to attend as a FANZCA. The training portfolio system will be updated directly by the ANZCA training team after AEP activities are completed, and doesn’t require DSRT approval. Further details can be found in the ANZCA Handbook for Training

Please note that the AEP modules are currently being revised. Therefore, the exact number and name of the modules required for the credit may differ in the future. We will continue to keep you updated with any new changes
