Executive Director, Faculty of Pain Medicine

The primary objective of the Faculty of Pain Medicine is to promote and advance the specialisation throughout Australia, New Zealand and the Asia Pacific region. The faculty develops and administers the training and examination processes and bylaws necessary for trainees to achieve fellowship status as specialist pain medicine physicians, which is a two-year post-specialist qualification. After gaining their pain specialist qualification the fellows are supported by the faculty through ongoing professional development and engagement programs.

The faculty contributes to building the pain management expertise of other medical practitioners and the broader multi-disciplinary health care team through online and other education offerings and it is actively engaged in research.

The faculty is also responsible for developing clinical standards and guidelines and plays a key role nationally and internationally in advocating for improved pain services to the community.
