Kylie is currently a pain medicine specialist and anaesthetist at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital. Kylie's current clinical interests include pain management in trauma/burns patients and the prevention of the transition from acute to chronic pain. 

Kylie is an Early Management of Severe Trauma (EMST) instructor and an Major Incident Medical Management Support (MIMMS) instructor in disaster management. She is also a member of the Australian Medical Assistance Team (AUSMAT). Kylie is a current serving Australian Defence Force member with personal experience of treating war injuries.

Kylie is also a clinical senior lecturer at the University of Queensland. 

For the faculty, Kylie is the chair of the document development group for ketamine in chronic pain.
