Examinations

In the course of ANZCA training, trainees are required to successfully complete the primary examination (while in basic training) and the final examination (during advanced training). Trainees should be familiar with the format, minimum marks required and eligibility requirements for each of these important examinations. The primary exam changed in 2013 and candidates should be aware of these changes.

 

 

Each of these examinations is offered twice a year as indicated in the tables below. Applications and documentation will not be accepted after the closing date.

Please note that the registration deadline occurs during the college Christmas and New Year break.  All applications received prior to COB December 22, 2013, will be acknowledged via email within 48 hours of receipt by the College. Any applications received on or after December 23, 2013 will be acknowledged as below.

 

  • Applications sent via email to the primary exam inbox will receive an immediate auto response acknowledging receipt of the application. Confirmation of receipt of the application will be sent by close of business Monday, January 6, 2014
  • Applications sent in via fax will be acknowledged by close of business Monday, January 6. The date and time of the fax received will be noted for time of registration.
  • Applications sent via post will be acknowledged by close of business Monday January 6. The time and date stamped by Australia Post at the time of processing will be used for receipt of delivery of application.  Please note that if you are sending the application via Express Post envelope you must post the envelope over the counter at an Australia Post outlet and request it be date stamped.  Express Post envelopes posted in a street box will not be date stamped by Australia Post and cannot be verified by the College.  Please also note all overseas applicants need to allow for the method of date stamping in their country of postage.

 

Late applications and late documentation will not be accepted after the closing date. All application fees are to be paid in full. No payment plans will be granted.

Late applications and late documentation will not be accepted after the closing date. All application fees are to be paid in full. No payment plans will be granted.

 

Applications are accepted via, email, fax and post. Acknowledgment of applications will be done via email within 48 hours of receipt by the College, except for weekends and holidays, these will be acknowledged within 48 hours of the next working day.
