Dr Alka Kothari 

Dr Alka Kothari is a Senior Staff Specialist in Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Conjoint Site-Coordinator of the Northside Clinical Unit, Faculty of Medicine, University of Queensland, at Redcliffe Hospital. She has won various research excellence and leadership awards in Metro North Hospital and Health Service as well as University of Queensland awards for teaching. Alka has been published in international journals and is an invited speaker at international and national conferences, she also has a passionate interest in encouraging multi-disciplinary research especially in perinatal mental health, women’s imaging and medical education. She is currently pursuing a PhD on “Forgotten Fathers in pregnancy and childbirth” and has presented her research at numerous international conferences. 

She is an Examiner for the Royal Australasian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and the University of Queensland. She is also a member of the Prince Charles Human Research and Ethics Committee and the Research supervisor for the trainee registrars.
