Fixed Term Temporary 3-year contract as the Medical Director of Surgical Service Group with a permanent substantive position as a Staff Specialist in applicable specialty department. A minimum of 40 hours per fortnight is required for the Medical Director role, negotiable up to 80 hours per fortnight full-time. There will be opportunity to re-apply for subsequent 3 year appointments in the Medical Director position.

Permanent staff specialist opportunities available for experienced anaesthetic consultants to join the Anaesthetics Speciality at Bendigo Health. Reporting to the Clinical Unit Head Anaesthetics, the Staff Specialist Anaesthetist will provide anaesthesia and related services to all interventional disciplines except cardiac surgery, neurosurgery and transplant surgery.

As Bendigo Health is an accredited training site, the position’s responsibilities include teaching of anaesthesia trainees as well as other junior medical staff, medical students and nursing staff.

Clinicians working at MBH enjoy a challenging and rewarding clinical casemix that includes busy inpatient and outpatient general medicine, paediatrics, surgery, orthopaedics, obstetrics & gynaecology and mental health services. The department currently provides anaesthesia for orthopaedic, trauma, general, gynaecological, obstetric, paediatric, ENT, dental, ECT and endoscopic procedures. We also provide a pre-assessment clinic, an acute pain service and obstetric epidural service. We support the trauma and cardiac arrest teams. 

The University of Otago, Christchurch, in association with Te Whatu Ora/Health New Zealand – Waitaha Canterbury, seeks to appoint a Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor of Anaesthesia. This position provides an excellent opportunity for a clinical academic to establish themselves in one of the leading medical schools in Australasia.
The appointee will provide leadership in teaching and research in the field of Anaesthesia while supporting an effective and efficient care for anaesthesia patients in the Canterbury region. There are opportunities for wide collaboration with researchers in the University’s well regarded medical and biomedical science departments.
In addition to holding the position of Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor of Anaesthesia at the University of Otago, the appointee will concurrently hold a position as Consultant Anaesthetist with Te Whatu Ora/Health New Zealand – Waitaha Canterbury. The RHH Department of Diving and Hyperbaric Medicine (DDHM) is fully accredited for ANZCA Advanced Certificate of Diving and Hyperbaric Medicine training, subject to the applicant meeting ANZCA requirements. The positions are also accredited by the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine for advanced training as a Special Skills Category A term, and are approved by the South Pacific Underwater Medicine Society for the SPUMS Diploma of Diving and Hyperbaric Medicine.

All applicants must be fit to dive as per AS/NZS 2299.1 or AS/NZS 4774.2.

We are looking for anaesthetists interested in joining the Department of Anaesthesia at Whangārei Hospital, Te Whatu Ora – Te Tai Tokerau. Our positions are permanent and full-time.

Te Whatu Ora – Te Tai Tokerau provides public health services across the Northland region, from north of Wellsford to Cape Reinga serving a growing population of 190,000. Whangārei Hospital is the largest hospital in Northland providing secondary care services, supported by three rural hospitals in Kaitaia, Kawakawa in the Bay of Islands and Dargaville. Of these, only Whangārei and Kaitaia Hospitals have operating theatres, with Whangārei being the only provider of surgery out-of-hours.
