Dr Courtney Thomas

Courtney is a Christchurch based anaesthetist and a recipient of an ANZCA Novice investigator Grant and the 2019 ANZCA Provisional/New Fellow Research Award. She is of Ngāi Tahu and Te Arawa descent, and has interests in Kaupapa Māori Research and Indigenous medical education. Her research is focused on investigating Māori experiences of anaesthesia in the perioperative setting, which also forms the basis of the PhD she is completing through the University of Auckland.
