Dónall Ó’Cróinín received his MB from University College Cork in 1997. Following internship he commenced his specialist training on the Irish National Training scheme in Anaesthesiology. He was awarded a Health Research Board of Ireland fellowship to investigate acute lung injury in 2002, work for which he was subsequently conferred with an MD from University College Dublin. Following completion of specialist training and a fellowship in anaesthesiology at Toronto General Hospital in 2007 he took up the post he currently occupies as consultant anaesthesiologist at Mercy University Hospital in Cork city. He is a clinical senior lecturer at University College Cork. He is chair of the sustainability committee of the College of Anaesthesiologists of Ireland and is also a member of the consultant advisory board of the NGO Irish Doctors for the Environment.
