Dr Kate Harding

St Michaels Hospice Hereford, UK

Dr Kate Harding grew up in Brussels and went to medical school in Glasgow. She is a palliative care doctor in the UK, based at St Michael’s hospice Hereford, and in Hereford hospital too. She has a GP background. She has written for a variety of medical and mainstream publications, and used to have a regular column in NZ Doctor magazine, as well as in the GP publication Pulse in the UK.

She met her husband Richard in Brisbane, and they had been together for 20 years by the time of his sudden death in 2017. By that time they had lived in Nottingham, Leeds, Perth WA, Dunedin, Hereford and Whangarei. Their two children, Amy and Jake, are now 19 and 17 respectively.  After Richard’s death Kate and her family returned to Hereford. Kate has had cause to question this decision on a number of occasions, particularly mid-pandemic, but her children assure her that they are happy to be UK-based!
