Professor Barry Baker AM

Barry is currently the college's honorary historian. He was an ANZCA Director of Professional Affairs from 2006, Executive Director of Professional Affairs from 2009, and Dean of Education from 2010. He was Nuffield Professor of Anaesthetics at the University of Sydney and Chairman of the Department of Anaesthetics at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney. Barry retired from professional roles in 2014, when he became a Life Patron of the ANZCA Research Foundation, establishing the ANZCA Provisional/New Fellow Research Award to encourage and assist emerging researchers to careers in research and academic anaesthesia.
