Chief Investigator - QUT Centre for Justice and Centre for Decent Work and Industry

Christina Malatzky is a feminist health sociologist and qualitative rural health researcher. As a chief investigator at QUT Centre for Justice and Centre for Decent Work and Industry, Christina researches power and gender in the rural health workforce and her work related to place attachment and belonging in-place as preconditions for retention is internationally recognised. Some of her projects have been funded by the Australian Research Council, including a current linkage project, ‘Achieving gender equality in STEMM hospital and health service research’ with Australia’s largest hospital and health service. Collectively, Christina’s research agenda is underpinned by a strong commitment to achieving spatial justice and health equity for rural communities.
