A/Prof Leonie Watterson, FANZCA (NSW)


ANZCA Councillor 

Assoxciate Professor Leonie Watterson is a clinical associate professor with the University of Sydney and director of the Sydney Clinical Skills and Simulation Centre.
She works as a senior staff specialist at Royal North Shore Hospital and as a visiting medical officer at Prince of Wales, Sydney Childrens’ and Royal Hospital for Women, in Sydney where her clinical practice focuses on obstetrics, ear, nose and throat and neuroanaesthesia and acute pain medicine.
Leonie has a long-standing interest in simulation and health professional education and research. As an early developer of simulation, she co-developed the EMAC course and maintains ongoing research interests in simulation, human factors, airway management and health professional communication. She has a masters degree in clinical education and is completing a post-graduate diploma in organisational leadership and coaching.
Leonie joined the ANZCA Council in 2019 and is chair of  the Education Executive Management Committee and Gender Equity Sub-Committee. She is the immediate past chair of the Professional Affairs Executive Committee.
