Dr Libby McLellan is an anaesthetist at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital. She completed her post-graduate medical degree at the University of Queensland and undertook junior medical training in southeast Queensland. Dr McLellan’s special interest in complex airway management led her to pursue an Airway Fellowship at RBWH, where she has been a Staff Specialist since 2017.Libby went on to complete a further subspecialty fellowship in ultrasound and regional anaesthesia in Toronto, Canada in 2019.
 
Libby's practice includes a wide range of anaesthesia for most surgical specialties including orthopaedics, ENT, maxillofacial, general surgery, obstetrics and acute pain management. She takes an active interest in education and quality and safety projects, and since 2017 has been Co-Chair of Queensland’s SWAPNet Difficult Airway Alert Working Group. Libby takes great pride in her efforts developing a widely accepted Difficult Airway Alert form, which she first began work on during her Airway Fellowship at RBWH.

Outside of work, Libby enjoys spending time with family and takes pleasure in social fitness pursuits such as running and cycling.
