Can’t make it to Brisbane? An ASM onDemand package is available for you to view recorded content from the scientific program – plenary and concurrent sessions. Refer to the ASM onDemand package document for more details on what is and isn’t included. All registered delegates, including those attending in-person, will be able to access this content from 14 May 2024 for 12 months.

ANZCA ASM Equity Grants
We’re pleased to announce that we’re piloting a new initiative, the ANZCA ASM Equity Grants, to support attendance at the 2024 ANZCA Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM). ​Applications are now open. Please use the online form to apply and submit your application here.  

Up to 10 grants of $A1000 will be available for ANZCA and FPM fellows who meet the selection criteria and who previously have not been able to attend an ASM due to travel, financial or care-giving issues.

FPM Symposium
The Faculty of Pain Medicine (FPM) Symposium takes place on Friday 3 May 2024 at Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre. The program is now available, and registration will also open on Tuesday 28 November.

For delegates unable to make it to Brisbane, an ASM onDemand package is available for you to view recorded content from the scientific program – plenary and concurrent sessions. The onDemand package will be available to watch in your own time from 14 May 2024. For more information and to register for the ASM OnDemand package, please visit the OnDemand registration webpage.

Call for abstracts resources

The 2024 ASM Call for abstracts is now closed. 

ANZCA strongly supports all forms of anaesthesia and pain medicine research and prospective authors are invited to submit abstracts in the disciplines of anaesthesia and pain medicine. Whether you’re a trainee or experienced researcher, check out our resources below to help get you started.

Abstract preparation resources


Resources for undertaking Research and Quality Improvement Projects
  • Research support toolkit (RSTK) 
  • Attend the annual CTN workshop held in August each year to start networking with other researchers.   
  • Lead a CTN trial at your site (site principal investigator). 
  • Seek out a local mentor. The ANZCA Research Committee may be able to provide suggestions if you already have a research idea in mind.
  • Complete a postgraduate degree in research methodology/stats.
