Contribute to new FPM prof docs

07 September 2023

We're seeking expressions of interest from faculty fellows to contribute to the development of three new professional documents.

Recent discussions from the board and Professional Affairs Executive Committee have highlighted the critical importance of the following three areas for new professional documents:

•    The role of telehealth in pain medicine practice (either position statement or clinical care standards)
•    Defining the scope of practice of Specialist Pain Medicine Physicians (position statement)
•    Clinical care standard for pain management programs (PMPs)

Each document development group (DDG) will work with the FPM Director of Professional Affairs (DPA) and FPM staff to create the document collaboratively using the ANZCA Sharepoint system to reduce the need for frequent online meetings. The anticipated length of involvement for drafting and reviewing each document is six-12 months to allow sufficient time to undergo the process set out in PP01(PM): Policy for the development and review of professional documents. As these are all very important and timely strategic areas, DDGs will be progressed as they are able to be formed, so fellows with an interest in developing FPM positions in these areas are encouraged to register their interest at the earliest opportunity by email to fpm@anzca.edu.au
