College Ceremony

Celebrate your success with friends and family at the prestigious College Ceremony, when the ANZCA president and FPM dean welcome you into fellowship of your college.

Important update

Due to overwhelming demand, we have reached capacity in terms of the number of new fellows presenting at the 2023 College Ceremony and have taken the difficult decision to close off new fellow registrations for the 2023 ANZCA Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM). While we appreciate that this may be disappointing, we would like to reassure all new fellows who do not get to present in 2023 that you will automatically be eligible to present at the 2024 ceremony in Brisbane, even if it has been more than two years since you received your fellowship.

Why is this necessary?
Thanks to COVID-19, this is our first in-person ASM in three years, and we have an unprecedented number of new fellows eligible to present. In order to provide the best possible experience for everyone, we need to limit the length of the ceremony and the number of new fellows presenting each year. The optimal size of the ceremony has been guided by feedback from previous ASMs; the capacity of the venue; and, most importantly, our commitment to creating a meaningful, intimate opportunity for new fellows to receive the acknowledgement they deserve after such effort and hard work over so many years.

Will I be able to present in 2024?
Once registration for the 2024 ASM opens in late 2023 you will be invited to register as a new fellow to present at the 2024 ANZCA and FPM College Ceremony. We encourage you to register early to ensure we can accommodate you.

We appreciate your understanding as we work through the logistics for this year. If you have any further queries, please don’t hesitate to contact the ASM team by email.

Held as part of the ANZCA Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM),  this formal event includes an oration by a distinguished speaker and is followed by the Welcome Reception. New fellows can attend a College Ceremony within two years of receiving their fellowship. Those eligible will receive a formal invitation from the college in November.
