2021 CPD verification (audit) results
07 April 2022
The 2021 CPD verification (audit) is complete with 100 per cent successfully verified.
The 2021 verification (audit) of continuing professional development (CPD) activities is complete with a 100 per cent successful verification. We thank the 480 fellows and CPD participants selected for this year’s verification for updating your CPD portfolios with supportive evidence.
Our CPD program completes an annual audit to comply with the requirements of the Australia Medical Council (AMC) and Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ) accreditation. A minimum of seven per cent of all fellows and CPD participants are randomly selected through the online CPD portfolio system to verify their CPD activity records each year. Participants may be selected across all three years of their CPD triennium. Full details are available in our CPD handbook section 13: Verification of completed activities.
With the 2020 verification waived due to the pandemic, this year the ANZCA and FPM CPD Committee and team specifically recognise the active effort made by those selected.
We applaud fellows and CPD participants for actively submitting CPD evidence accurately to their portfolio prior to the 31 December submission date. We recognise that many of the usual professional development channels (e.g. conferences, scientific meetings) pivoted due to pandemic restrictions – so did you for CPD!
How does this compare to previous CPD verifications (audits)?
This is the first time the college has achieved 100 per cent successful verification. We have a proud record on accuracy and completion with our annual verification results between 98.3 - 99.5 per cent compliance over the past five years. Additionally, almost all of the very small percentage (1.7 - 0.5%) that could not be successfully verified in their year have since been supported and are now across the line.
We feel this demonstrates the dedication year on year that fellows and CPD participants show to the college in demonstrating their CPD compliance.
CPD team tip for future verification selection
Good news, you won't need additional CPD evidence for CPD activities that have auto-populated to the CPD portfolio. We don't require evidence for CPD activities that come across from ANZCA or FPM run events (e.g. ASM, FPM spring meeting), workplace-based assessments (WBA) logged in the training portfolio system (TPS), or online learning through Networks.
Once participants have confirmed the activity from their ‘pending’ folder, no additional evidence is required for CPD verification. Please review our CPD portfolio support document for more helpful details.
The CPD team (Nadja and Mat) are available for any questions or assistance. We are actively thinking of ways to support your professional development while upholding the high standard of our CPD program and happily welcome all enquiries.
