The ASM program is enriched by the participation of local fellows and trainees and features a distinguished lineup of invited national and international keynote speakers. These experts present the latest advancements, ensuring that our fellows stay at the forefront of medical education, research, and innovation. This commitment to excellence enhances the global reputation of our profession.
Beyond educational opportunities, the meeting fosters open dialogue and collaboration on a wide array of topics pertinent to anaesthetists, pain medicine specialists, perioperative medicine, scientists, and research nurses from across Australia, New Zealand, and around the world. The ASM serves as a vital platform for advancing knowledge and addressing key issues within the fields of anaesthesia and pain medicine. The ASM also aligns with the colleges strategic direction of health and wellbeing, equity, inclusion, diversity, global development, and sustainability.
Each year the ASM provides innovative opportunities for professional development across all three CPD categories – practice evaluation, knowledge and skills and emergency response and an expansive workshop day delivers up to 150 workshops.
New fellows also have the opportunity to present and celebrate their success with friends and family at the College Ceremony held at the ASM and we build a future generation through the Emerging Leaders Conference. As a specialty college we are also pleased to deliver the FPM symposium the day prior to the ASM opening.
The ASM is held annually in locations across Australia and New Zealand and is supported by a local organising committee.
Each year the ASM is predominantly an in-person meeting supported by an OnDemand package.
The 2026 ASM onDemand registration is open until 30 June 2026.
