Perioperative Medicine Steering Committee
In 2016, ANZCA Council approved the development of a formal qualification in perioperative medicine. ANZCA then worked closely with the Perioperative Medicine Special Interest Group to establish a steering committee.
The Perioperative Medicine Steering Committee (POM SC) reports to ANZCA Council on the development and implementation of an effective integrated perioperative care model and education offerings for Australia and New Zealand.
Perioperative medicine was introduced as a key pillar of ANZCA’s 2018-2022 strategic plan and is again a key objective of the 2023-2025 strategic plan. Updates are provided in the ANZCA Bulletin.
