ANZCA trainee committee elections

Everything you need to know about voting and standing for election in the ANZCA regional and national trainee committee elections.

**Nominations for the 2026 committee elections are open until 5pm (local time) on Friday 24 October 2025**

The ANZCA trainee committees report to the Education Executive Management Committee (EEMC) by considering training-related matters in their respective regions.

Elections for the ANZCA Australian regional trainee committees and the ANZCA New Zealand Trainee Committee take place annually. All ANZCA trainees are eligible to vote and stand for election in their registered jurisdiction.

The next trainee committee elections are scheduled for October/November 2025. We will invite eligible trainees to submit nominations in October 2025. We will then hold an electronic election in November for each of the regions where the number of nominations received exceeds the number of vacancies.

The results of the elections are sent to the EEMC for ratification.

Trainees voted in as chair of their respective regional or national committee form the ANZCA Trainee Committee.

What you need to know

All ANZCA trainees who meet the conditions outlined in Regulation 16 are eligible to stand for election, endorse a candidate's nomination, and vote in their registered jurisdiction.

Nominations for the 2026 elections are open until 5pm (local time) on Friday 24 October 2025.

Eligible trainees are invited to complete the nomination form and submit it via email (see table below for your jurisdictions contact details) by 5pm local time on Friday 24 October 2025.

To edit the form electronically, please download it and open it in a PDF viewer (not a web browser).

Each nomination must be signed by two financial trainees from your region and include a signed consent to act from the nominee, who must also be a financial trainee of the college.

If more nominations are received than available positions, an electronic ballot will be conducted.

We encourage members to check that their contact information is up-to-date in the MyAnzca Portal. An election will be called if the number of nominated candidates exceeds any available positions, as per Regulation 16 (16.4.5).

It will vary slightly from year to year, but voting will generally take place over two weeks in late October or early November.

If an election is called, details and advance notice will be given to all voting trainees. Trainees will be invited to vote for their preferred candidates during a specific period (usually 14 days) in late October or early November.

We use a secure third party electronic voting service called Election Runner to manage the ANZCA trainee committee elections.

During the polling period (usually 14 days), you will be able to access candidate bios and statements and cast your vote. It's easy to use, and you can vote from any location on any device.

Once the ballot has closed and results are known, all candidates will be contacted immediately by the regional co-ordinator to advise them of the result.

The results of the elections are sent to the EEMC for ratification.
