Dr Tanya Selak provides clinical anaesthesia in the public and private sector in Wollongong, New South Wales. She is immediate past Wollongong Hospital co-head of department and a member of the International Advisory Panel of Anaesthesia journal.
Dr Selak completed medical training in Auckland, and ANZCA training in Auckland, London, and Australia.
Dr Selak has a strong interest in communication, in particular the dissemination, promotion and discussion of medical and scientific information using traditional and new media. Her extensive social media engagement keeps her abreast of current issues in medicine and across wider society locally and internationally.
By carefully listening to the views of anaesthetic and pain medicine trainees, SIMGs and fellows across Australia and New Zealand she aims to bring a member focused contribution when discussing the important issues brought to council.
When not at work, Dr Selak and her husband are kept busy with their three children, and pandemic puppy Honey.
