Special Interest Groups

Anaesthesia Continuing Education (ACE) is a partnership between ANZCA, the Australian Society of Anaesthetists and the New Zealand Society of Anaesthetists.

ACE was established to promote and co-ordinate combined continuing medical education activities in anaesthesia and related disciplines.

It manages 17 Special Interest Groups (SIGs) that allow anaesthetists and others to study, report and develop educational events in specific areas of anaesthesia in which they have an interest or skills. 

Acute Pain SIG

The Acute Pain SIG is one of 17 SIGs jointly managed by ANZCA, the Australian Society of Anaesthetists (ASA), and the New Zealand Society of Anaesthetists (NZSA) through the Anaesthesia Continuing Education (ACE) partnership.

The main objective of the Airway Management SIG is the promotion of science, education, exchange and distribution of ideas between anaesthetists with a particular interest and involvement in airway management.

Anaesthesia and Critical Care in Unusual and Transport Environments (ACCUTE) SIG

The executive of the ACCUTE SIG maintains ongoing internal communication, usually utilising electronic mediums and personal meetings at ACE events, to discuss matters related to the group's area of interest.

The Neuroanaesthesia SIG exists to foster interest in matters relating to the perioperative care and anaesthesia of patients with intracranial and spinal pathology. This includes the application of basic and translational science relevant to clinical anaesthesia.
