The Anaesthetist, as part of an ICRC or National Society hospital team, performs safe pre and post anaesthesia procedures for emergency and elective surgical interventions, often for the benefit of trauma and weapon wounded individuals. The Anaesthetist works in assisted or ICRC or National Society independent hospital structures, often in limited resources settings and challenging security environment. The Anaesthetist may also be part of part of the mobile surgical team deployed in certain contexts, when required.

Staff Specialist – Persistent Pain Service

Looking for a suitably experienced Pain Medicine specialist who would be eligible for an initial appointment as Clinical Director (HOD) of the service for two years, renewable by mutual agreement. The present director is retiring and the service is undergoing a process of internal change, and relocation within the internal governance structure of the hospital.
The service presently consists of a team of Pain Medicine specialists, a psychiatrist, a visiting general practitioner, and two registrars, together with a Nurse Unit Manager and clinic nurses, a full team of experienced allied health practitioners in physiotherapy and psychology, and administrative staff. Multidisciplinary assessment clinics (MDTs) are run every week, together with one on one consultations with team members, a Moving with Pain course, and an EPOCH network.
