Seeking interest for Registrar vacancies in the Department of Diving and Hyperbaric Medicine at the Royal Hobart Hospital which is an accredited for ANZCA Diploma of Advanced Diving and Hyperbaric Medicine training, subject to the applicant meeting ANZCA requirements. The position is also accredited by the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine advanced training as a Special Skills Category A term and approved by the South Pacific Underwater Medicine Society for the SPUMS DipDHM. Applicants must be fit to dive as per AS/NZS 2299.1 or AS/NZS 4774.2.
The ANZCA Diploma of Advanced Diving and Hyperbaric Medicine program requires candidates to be in their Fellowship year or Post - Fellowship. Applications can be accepted from Anaesthesia, Emergency Medicine, Intensive Care Medicine, General Practice, Rural and Remote Medicine or other training programmes.

Registrar, Senior Registrar, Transitional fellow Positions

Department of Critical Care Medicine (DCCM) is Tasmania’s only adult tertiary referral intensive care unit.The Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH) is Tasmania’s major teaching hospital and the State referral centre for cardiothoracic surgery, neurosurgery, trauma and burns, hyperbaric and diving medicine, neonatal and paediatric intensive care and high risk obstetrics. The Royal Hobart Hospital provides all general and specialty medical and surgical services, excluding organ transplantation, spinal and paediatric cardiac surgery. RHH services a regional population of approximately 250,000 people, and has 450 beds.
DCCM has 23 beds with more than 1500 admission per year, and high acuity. The broad case mix includes cardiothoracic surgery, neurosurgery, major trauma and burns, complex medical, surgical and haematology and oncology patients.

Senior Medical Officer - Anaesthetist

The maternity services are provided under a low risk midwifery led model of care supported by SMO GP Obstetricians with DRANZCOG advanced. The general surgical services are provided by the Flying Surgical Service from Roma. A range of sub-specialty surgical services are provided by fly-in fly-out Surgeons and Gastroenterologists.
