DTRP regional champions: Expressions of interest open
The Dual Training Recognition Process (DTRP) is seeking expressions of interest from supervisors of training (SOTs), rotational supervisors (ROTs), and education officers (EOs) to take on the important role of DTRP regional champion.
Overview
The DTRP demonstrates ANZCA and CICM’s shared commitment to improving access to specialist care across Australia and New Zealand. By recognising transferable skills between the two specialties, the DTRP enables trainees to work towards both FANZCA and FCICM more efficiently while maintaining training standards. It is expected to increase interest in dual training and support workforce needs, particularly in rural and regional communities.
Dual trainees will continue to be supervised and entrusted in accordance with the requirements of the training program they are undertaking. ANZCA training and assessment activities will follow ANZCA's supervision framework, while CICM training and assessment activities will be conducted in line with CICM's supervision requirements.
Who we are looking for
As a DTRP regional champion, you will play a key role in supporting dual trainees within your region. Regional champions will be expected to:
- Comprise a strong working knowledge of both CICM and ANZCA training requirements and provide guidance to dual trainees on progressing successfully through the DTRP.
- Work closely with local ANZCA and CICM supervisors of training to support trainees in meeting the requirements of both training programs.
- Facilitate access to relevant ANZCA, CICM, and DPA contacts to assist in resolving training matters related to the DTRP.
