The Commonwealth-funded phase of the project concluded on 30 April 2026, with the FATES Project Evaluation Report and the videos below providing a more in-depth look at the project.
Over the past three years, the network has delivered more than 100 simulation education and training activities for more than 1100 healthcare professionals across Royal Hobart Hospital, Launceston General Hospital, North West Regional Hospital and Mersey Community Hospital. By bringing high-quality simulation training closer to where clinicians work, TASETN has significantly expanded opportunities for healthcare professionals across the state to develop and maintain critical clinical skills in safe and supported environments.
The impact has been substantial. Simulation activity at the Royal Hobart Hospital increased by more than 450 per cent during the project period, while participation at Launceston General Hospital grew by 306 per cent. Participant feedback consistently demonstrated the value of the program, with more than 95 per cent of attendees reporting that the education was worthwhile and directly relevant to their clinical practice.
