Chief Medical Officer

Part of the Executive Leadership Team, the Chief Medical Officer will provide strategic clinical leadership across Southern Cross’ national network and shape the organisation’s clinical strategy. This role acts as the organisation’s senior clinical voice, strengthening governance, engaging closely with specialists, and guiding the adoption of innovation and best practice across the national network. It offers the opportunity to influence the future of private healthcare in New Zealand while upholding Southern Cross’ commitment to excellence in patient care. The ideal candidate will be a senior surgeon or anaesthetist with a respected professional profile, significant leadership experience and a strong understanding of clinical governance in complex healthcare environments. They will bring exceptional communication skills, sound clinical judgement and the ability to influence effectively at executive and system levels.
