Overview
A dual trainee who successfully completes the CICM First Part Examination must also successfully complete the anaesthesia gap assessment (AGA). The AGA is aligned with the standards of the ANZCA Primary Examination and assesses the additional learning outcomes required for progression in the ANZCA training program.
The AGA is a competency-based summative assessment designed in accordance with ANZCA assessment principles including validity, reliability, fairness, transparency and educational impact.
Trainees who are already fellows of either college are not eligible to undertake the gap assessment as an alternative to the relevant Primary or First Part Examination. The gap assessment is available only to trainees participating in the ANZCA CICM Dual Training Recognition Process. See our FAQs for more information.
