What is ahead of us and how do we navigate it? Our 2026 Trainee Day explores the new adventures of our profession and the tools needed to succeed.

Join us for a comprehensive and inspiring day designed for anaesthetic trainees at all stages of training. This event brings together experienced speakers and educators to share practical insights, exam strategies, and career perspectives to help you thrive in anaesthesia.

Program highlights:

  • Airway management – explore evidence-based approaches, common pitfalls, and expert tips from airway specialists.
  • Professional communication – strengthen your communication and teamwork skills including development of thoughtful communication with patients.
  • Exam preparation – practical advice and insider strategies for both the Primary and Fellowship examinations with current and previous examiners.
  • Trauma anaesthesia and retrieval spanning from Tasmania to South Africa – an eye-opening session exploring the challenges, clinical lessons, and resilience required in high-acuity, resource-limited trauma settings.
  • Global anaesthesia and aid work – discover how anaesthetists contribute to humanitarian and outreach programs around the world and what opportunities lie outside of the traditional workplace.

Whether you’re just starting out or preparing for fellowship, this is a valuable opportunity to connect with peers, gain practical knowledge, and be inspired by leaders in the field.
