SA ACE Gastric Ultrasound Workshop
Join us for the hands-on Gastric Ultrasound Workshop at the Royal Adelaide Hospital.
This workshop is designed to provide comprehensive training in gastric point-of-care ultrasound, focusing on assessing the risk of tracheal aspiration and guiding airway management. Participants will receive hands-on training from expert faculty and experience scanning volunteer patients in various gastric states.
Location and venue
The workshop will be held at the ANZCA Office, 168 Ward St, North Adelaide.

Cancellation Policy - Refunds will only be provided for cancellations advised in writing prior to the registration close date. Cancellations after the close date still incur venue and catering costs and therefore can’t be refunded.

Workshop facilitator
This workshop will be facilitated by Dr. Jo Tan.
Dr. Jo Tan (BMed, MD, FANZCA) is a consultant anaesthetist at the Royal Adelaide Hospital who completed fellowships in neuroanaesthesia, upper GI and regional anaesthesia at the Royal Adelaide Hospital and Toronto Western Hospital.

Topics include ultrasound principles, anatomy, aspiration risk assessment, and airway management. Participants gain hands-on experience in probe positioning, scanning techniques, and interpreting ultrasound images across diverse populations, including pregnant, pediatric, and bariatric patients.
Advanced sessions cover troubleshooting artifacts, case studies, and integrating findings into practice. These workshops offer practical skills, expert feedback, and resources, making them invaluable for anesthesiologists aiming to enhance patient safety and care with gastric ultrasound.
