Help shape anaesthesia and pain medicine education
The ANZCA Educators Sub-committee (AESC) is seeking expressions of interest from passionate educators who want to influence the future of teaching, learning, and educator development across Australia and New Zealand.
As an AESC member, you will contribute to the development of educational programs, resources and initiatives that support ANZCA trainees, fellows, specialist international medical graduates (SIMGs) and educators. The committee provides educational leadership and advice to the Education Development and Evaluation Committee (EDEC) and contributes to key ANZCA initiatives in educator development.
The commitment
- Members participate in four committee meetings per year (typically two online and two face-to-face).
- Members commit to training as an AEP facilitator within the first year of their membership. AEP facilitator role involves:
- Facilitation of one AEP module per year.
- Attendance at the face-to-face February facilitator development workshop once every three years.
- Provision of feedback on AEP post-course activities a couple of time per year.
Selection criteria
We are seeking fellows who:
- Demonstrate expertise or a strong interest in medical education.
- Have experience in teaching, supervision, assessment or educational leadership.
- Hold FANZCA, FFPMANZCA or another qualification acceptable to ANZCA Council.
- Have completed the ANZCA Educators Program (AEP) or hold a relevant postgraduate qualification in education.
- Are currently an AEP facilitator or are willing to become an AEP facilitator within 12 months of joining the committee.
