Highlights from the 2025 FPM Symposium

Around 150 delegates have been 'Diving Deep' in Cairns today at the annual Faculty of Pain Medicine Symposium.
Held this year at the Pullman Cairns International, the symposium precedes the ANZCA Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM), which will run from 2-6 May 2025 at the Cairns Convention Centre (CCC).
Interviews with keynote speakers
Delegates heard from two renowned international speakers, Professor Nadine Attal, a neurologist, pain specialist and clinical researcher and is the current director for the Centre of Evaluation and Treatment of Pain in Ambroise Parѐ Hospital, France and Professor G Allen Finley, a paediatric anaesthetist, professor of anaesthesia and psychology at Dalhousie University and Medical director of paediatric pain management at IWK Health Centre in Halifax, Canada.

Pain medicine sessions at the ASM
The symposium may be over for another year, but many delegates will stay on in Cairns to participate in the pain medicine stream of the ANZCA ASM.

The program is the product of many months of effort from FPM ASM Scientific Co-convenors Dr Hannah Bennett and Dr Anju Tessa James. We spoke to them both today. You can catch the convo on Instagram.
