Understanding CAPE in the ANZCA & FPM CPD Program
Understanding CAPE in the ANZCA & FPM CPD Program
Overview
The CAPE framework supports a well-rounded approach to Continuing Professional Development (CPD), focusing on four key domains:
CPD participants are required to record at least one CPD activity in each CAPE domain annually.
There is no minimum number of hours required per domain.
Key requirements
- The mandatory cultural safety (C) requirement remains unchanged.
- When recording CPD activities, you can assign:
- Addressing health inequities (A)
- Professionalism (P)
- Ethical practice (E)
- To do this, select the relevant domain(s)under the “details / notes” section when adding your activity.

- You cannot assign A, P, or E to an activity already recorded as cultural safety (C).
