Understanding CAPE in the ANZCA & FPM CPD Program

Overview

The CAPE framework supports a well-rounded approach to Continuing Professional Development (CPD), focusing on four key domains:

CPD participants are required to record at least one CPD activity in each CAPE domain annually.

There is no minimum number of hours required per domain.

Key requirements

  • The mandatory cultural safety (C) requirement remains unchanged.
  • When recording CPD activities, you can assign:
  • Addressing health inequities (A)
  • Professionalism (P)
  • Ethical practice (E)
  • To do this, select the relevant domain(s)under the “details / notes” section when adding your activity.2026_CPD portfolio_laptop_V2
  • You cannot assign A, P, or E to an activity already recorded as cultural safety (C).
