Skantha Vallipuram ANZCA research scholarship
The future of research depends on helping emerging investigators transition to established researchers.
The Skantha Vallipuram ANZCA Research Scholarship has been set up by his family as a memorial to Dr Skantha Vallipuram, FANZCA, FFPMANZCA to assist fellows or trainees to help establish their research careers.
The scholarship will support an ANZCA or FPM fellow or trainee enrolled in a higher research degree (PhD, Masters or equivalent) in Australia or New Zealand and may be used for either a stipend or to cover basic costs of a planned research project.
Eligibility
The scholarship is to support an emerging investigator applicant who:
- Has not previously received a research grant of more than $20,000.
- Has five or less peer-reviewed publications as first author.
- Has been principal investigator on no more than two successful peer-reviewed research grant applications.
Entitlements
The maximum amount available for the Skantha Vallipuram ANZCA Research Scholarship is $A15,000.

The grant round opens 1 December 2023 and closes 5pm (AEDT) 2 April 2024 (1 April being a public holiday).
