Submitting to the Blue Book
Are you interested in being published in the Blue Book? We’re currently seeking expressions of interest for contributions to the next edition. We digitally publish chapters twice a year, with these chapters then being compiled into the print version which comes out every two years. Our next deadlines for receiving first drafts are:
• 31 January 2026.
• 31 July 2026.
• 31 January 2027.
• 31 July 2027.
Chapters submitted during these intakes will be published as part of Australasian Anaesthesia 2027. EOIs can be submitted at any time.

PDFs for all editions can be downloaded from AIRR. Prefer audiobooks? We've recorded a select few chapters of the 2021 Blue Book as audio chapters so you can listen to them on the go.
Explore college publications
The quarterly ANZCA Bulletin is the pre-eminent source of information for anaesthetists and pain medicine specialists. With a circulation of about 8000, we send the Bulletin to fellows and trainees of the college, non-fellow participants in ANZCA's continuing professional development program, the media, health ministers and government departments, overseas sister colleges and all Australian and New Zealand teaching hospitals.
We publish Acute Pain Management: Scientific Evidence every five years. It covers a wide range of clinical topics, combining a review of the best available evidence for acute pain management.
Our Mortality Sub-committee publishes triennial reports on anaesthesia-related mortality in Australia and New Zealand.
