Nominate a medical educator who has provided outstanding contribution, scholarship and mentorship in anaesthesia and/or pain medicine.

Nominations for the Steuart Henderson Award recognising dedication to education in anaesthesia and pain medicine are now open.

Behind our new fellows are educators who go above and beyond – often without recognition. This award is the chance to nominate someone who:

  • year after year shows dedication to education in your department.
  • consistently creates a successful learning environment for trainees.
  • supports trainees to overcome adversity and pass the exam.
  • has influenced a shift in learning culture in anaesthesia.

The award includes of a medal, certificate and grant of $A1,000 for educational or research purposes and ticketed entry to the ANZCA Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM).

Nominations close November 15 for the 2025 Steuart Henderson Award. Learn more here about the eligibility criteria, nomination process, past recipients and Steuart Henderson himself, and nominate someone today.

Nominations must be in writing and directed to the Chair of the ANZCA Educators Sub-Committee via email to the Education and Research Unit.
