Building a successful anaesthesia research department requires strategic planning, institutional support, and dedicated personnel. This guidance, developed by experienced members of the ANZCA Clinical Trials Network, outlines key considerations for establishing a sustainable research department, including securing funding, fostering a research culture, and employing and upskilling a research coordinator to support trial delivery and departmental growth.
