Senior Registrar/Fellow - Trauma Services

Learn to lead a team and broaden your skills working in a specialist tertiary trauma service. The Royal Hobart Hospital Trauma Service has positions available for senior registrars in surgery and critical care. Our specialists come from a variety of backgrounds, including emergency medicine, intensive care, anaesthesia, and retrieval medicine. This allows us to offer accredited training with CICM (medicine time – 6 months), ACEM (including TS4 trainees – 6 months) and ANZCA (PFY by individual application). We welcome trainees who want to learn how to provide comprehensive, roadside to rehabilitation care of patients with complex and multiple injuries. Clinical time in your primary specialty area may also be possible by negotiation.

In partnership with the trauma staff specialists, the trauma senior registrar will attend trauma calls, lead daily ward rounds, attend the fortnightly trauma clinic, represent the medical team at trauma multidisciplinary meetings, and contribute to teaching and supervision of junior staff. There will also be opportunities to engage in research and quality improvement activities.
