Every year, we make grant funding available to fellows and trainees who are novice, emerging or established researchers, for studies in anaesthesia, pain or perioperative medicine.
We offer two prestigious anaesthesia professorships. Explore the eligibility criteria, application process, entitlements, and past recipients.
The academic enhancement grant aims to foster the advancement of the academic disciplines of anaesthesia and/or pain medicine. Support is provided for proposals encompassing broad areas of research. Details of initial area(s) of investigation need to be outlined. The grant aims to enhance foci of research activity.
Each year, we fund a wide range of projects in the field of basic scientific research, clinical investigation or epidemiological research. Many advances in healthcare in Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Singapore that are crucial to the safety and well-being of patients owe their origins to pioneering research undertaken by college fellows and trainees who were awarded college project grants.
Professional practice research (PPR) grants support research comprising a range of methodologies and methods including but not limited to qualitative approaches such as ethnography and action research in the ANZCA professional practice domains of communicator, collaborator, leader and manager, scholar, health advocate and professional in anaesthesia, perioperative and pain medicine.
We're helping to support research exploring the environmental impact of anaesthesia and related products and activities.
We've created a dedicated grant to encourage and support emerging investigators as they transition from the novice investigator grant level.
We're helping to secure the future of research in anaesthesia, pain, and perioperative medicine by mentoring and supporting novice investigators on their journey to becoming established researchers.
This annual grant program provides up to $A5000 for research and interpretation of the history of anaesthesia, pain, and perioperative medicine.
The Skantha Vallipuram ANZCA Research Scholarship has been set up by his family as a memorial to Dr Skantha Vallipuram, FANZCA, FFPMANZCA to assist fellows or trainees to help establish their research careers.

ANZCA recognises the importance of large collaborative bodies of work and the support of fellows when applying to large partnership funding schemes. The Research Committee will only consider grants supporting the science and practice of anaesthesia, pain medicine and perioperative medicine.
