Dr Leinani Salamasina Aiono-Le-Tagaloa, FANZCA, FFPMANZCA

FPM Board Member (New Zealand)

Dr Aiono-Le-Tagaloa joined the Faculty of Pain Medicine (FPM) Board in May 2022 and served as the Vice-Dean of the Faculty from May 2024 to January 2026.

Dr Aiono-Le-Tagaloa is a pain specialist at the Auckland Regional Pain Service (TARPS) and an anaesthetist at Auckland Hospital. She divides her clinical practice between chronic pain medicine and anaesthesia, with a focus on improving patient outcomes and advancing multidisciplinary pain care.

She has previously served on the FPM Exams Committee and is an examiner and SIMG assessor.

A strong advocate for Pacific representation in specialist training, Dr Aiono-Le-Tagaloa co-founded Pasifika Anaesthesia in Aotearoa (PAiA), championing pathways and support for Pacific doctors in the workforce.

Dr Aiono-Le-Tagaloa also holds a Samoan chief title and plays an active role in her aiga and wider community, embodying values of service, cultural leadership, and equity in healthcare.
